Eifel Rallye Festival: It's finally starting!

- Get your camera ready: a photo competition with attractive prizes
Excitement is building ahead of the twelfth edition of the Eifel Rallye Festival to be held from August 15th/17th, 2024. Indeed, the entire Volcanic Eifel region around Daun is already in a state of rally fever. The region will once again host the world's largest rolling rally museum with over one hundred and sixty original or faithfully reproduced cars from the history of rallying. Thorsten Krämer, Mayor of the Shakedown Centre in Bodenbach, puts it in a nutshell: "The local community of Bodenbach warmly welcomes the international field of participants and fans from all over Europe". And what should not be forgotten is that, in addition to the fascination of motorsport: "Their physical well-being is also being taken care of."
The Festival starts on Thursday with the Shakedown and the Welcome Evening. Then on Friday, after technical scrutineering and an autograph session with all the VIP drivers, fans will be drawn to the serpentine bends of the Hochkelberg stage. On Saturday, the Rally Mile in Daun also offers the opportunity to see the participants, VIPs and cars up close. In addition, the three other stages to be held on Saturday – and each comprising two runs – will entice visitors to experience these treasures from rally history live in action.
Special Festival tours at the Toyota Motorsport Museum in Cologne
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe (TGR-E) is opening the doors of its motorsport museum in Cologne-Marsdorf especially for fans and participants of the Eifel Rallye Festival. On Wednesday, August 14th, TGR-E will be offering ninety-minute guided tours at 14:00 and then at 16:00. The tours will be conducted by experienced employees who have witnessed Toyota's WRC history at first hand and can tell personal stories from the past. The museum showcases Toyota's WRC history from the 1970s to the 1990s as well as all the Toyota Formula One cars plus all Toyota’s successful endurance prototypes, right from the GT-One to the Le Mans-winning TS050 HYBRID. Further information about the museum can be found at: https://www.tgr-europe.com/de/museum. Also tickets can be obtained online here: https://www.eventim-light.com/de/a/63fdb9b39cbd7a7e056cdac6
Quick information via WhatsApp channel
The Festival organiser has set up a WhatsApp channel to enable quick publication of information during the Festival. This means that the latest information can be passed on to fans in real time. How can one subscribe to this channel? As the subscription search often does not work for new channels, we recommend clicking on this link: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaJxqlu3rZZfMFPHWJ2N. This is the perfect way to subscribe and ensure that you receive up-to-date information on the things taking place as the Festival runs.
Get your camera ready: a photo competition with attractive prizes
There is also chance for the fans to get directly involved in an active way ! With ninety-three participants from a total of eight nations, the 2023 photo competition proved to be a great success. Reason enough, then, for the organisers of the Eifel Rallye Festival to continue this competition for the twelfth edition. The conditions of participation and the registration form are now available at https://www.eifel-rallye-festival.de/de/Fotowettbewerb.html.
As in previous years, the prizes will be provided by the RallyWebShop (www.rallywebshop.com). We owe them many thanks for this generosity.

Eifel Rallye Festival 2011-2022 - The official book
If you want to bridge the time until the next Festival in an entertaining way, you can do so with the official book about the first ten editions of the Eifel Rallye Festival: The highlights of each year are described on more than three hundred pages. There are rally cars that have never been seen since they last competed. In addition, there is a unique cross-section of rally history with the classics from Mini and Volvo PV544, to Group 4 legends like the Stratos and Ascona 400, then the unforgettable Group B monsters, the stars of Group A from Lancia to Subaru and finally the spectacular World Rally Cars. The book’s bilingual text (German and English) and the many photos are completed by numerous tables and overviews of starters and rally cars. The Festival’s long-time patron, Walter Röhrl, summarises his impressions of the Festival in a foreword. Here is the ordering link to obtain copies of this remarkable book from the RallyWebShop:
