Former world champion Stig Blomqvist - permanent guest at the Eifel Rallye Festival - is well on his way to repeating his victory of 2015 at the East African Safari Classic. After halfway through the rest day in Tangier, he took the lead and is now moving away. The surprise man of the rally is the Austrian Kris Rosenberger, like Blomqvist in a Porsche 911. At his EASC premiere he took the lead together with co-driver Nicola Bleicher at halftime. But he knew "that I don't want to keep up with Stig's pace, we're still driving our style". On Friday the event leading through Kenya and Tanzania ends after 9 days - accompanied by Jürgen Hahn and Reinhard Klein.
