ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival 2020 - The first guests announce themselves

For ten years now, the Eifel Rallye Festival has been presenting the history of rallying - live, original and above all close up. The jubilee event that will run from July 23rd to the 25th 2020 in the Volcanic Eifel area around Daun promises to be an absolute cracker. Already before the opening of the entry list in March there are many requests to participate. "In order to allow a large variety of vehicles, we have to pay even closer attention this year to only allow a limited number of individual models.

The entry list for the Eifel Rallye Festival opens on 1 March 2020 and the entry forms will be available as an online form from that date.

After filling in and sending the form, the participant will receive a completed PDF document by email.

The webshop of the Eifel Rallye Festival will open at the end of March

Also this year there is the possibility to order the programmes and weekend-tickets to the Eifel Rallye Festival via internet. The official programme of the Eifel Rallye Festival contains detailed descriptions of the stages and designated spectator areas in German, English and French. Furthermore it includes a general map and complete start lists with pictures of all participating cars. Saturday and day tickets cannot be ordered. Details of prices and the ordering process will be published here in good time.

ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival 2020 – Lots of news for the anniversary

The tenth edition of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival will take place in the Volcanic Eifel from July 23rd/25th, 2020 and will based again in Daun. "This is a unique success story," says its Organisation Manager, Otmar Anschütz, as he looks forward to the anniversary. "When the MSC Daun decided to hold the Festival instead of the previous national stage rally starting in 2011, we were all very confident. But none of us would have ever dreamed that it would become such a big success.”

East African Safari Classic - Stig Blomqvist takes the lead

Former world champion Stig Blomqvist - permanent guest at the Eifel Rallye Festival - is well on his way to repeating his victory of 2015 at the East African Safari Classic. After halfway through the rest day in Tangier, he took the lead and is now moving away. The surprise man of the rally is the Austrian Kris Rosenberger, like Blomqvist in a Porsche 911.

A visit to Holland (Update)

The Visser family was visited today by Ursula Kleinmanns, Reinhard Klein and Otmar Anschütz. The joy was great - on both sides. The organisers of the Eifel Rallye Festival were particularly pleased with the couple's considerable progress towards recovery. But also the plans for the visit of the anniversary festival in July 2020 were addressed. "We invited them and would be very happy if the visit could be realized!

ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival 2020 - Save the Date

The date for the tenth anniversary edition of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival is set. From July 23rd to the 25th next year, the tenth edition will take place in the Vulkaneifel centred, as usual, around the starting and finishing point of Daun. As in the previous nine years, around one hundred and sixty rally cars covering fifty years of rally history will bring the fans to the tracks of this fascinating sport over the Festival weekend.

The shakedown of this year's Eifel Rallye Festival was over before it had really started. There were some injured in an accident, the worst ones were Titia and Mets Visser from the Netherlands. Bram Lambrechts, Herk-deStad, Belgien, Gilian van Harmelen, Almere, Niederlande, Andreas Dietrich, Langöns, Deutschland, Nina Müller, Düsseldorf, Christoph Schneider, Hamburg, Deutschland - these are the five photographers that have impressed our chief juror Reinhard Klein most with their particularly spectacular, atmospheric, artistic or simply inventive pictures and are thus the winners of this year's photo competition. They have 'beaten' 82 photographers from 10 different countries who have send in a total of more than 400 images.

The Eifel Rallye Festival has become one of the most popular events for classic cars with some 170 cars representing six decades of rallying. The official programme contains all important information on this year’s event including detailed descriptions of all stages and spectator areas in German, English and French, all necessary maps and contains a detailed list of all the entrants with pictures of the cars.

ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival 2019 - World tour through the Volcanic Eifel

The ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 18th/20th, 2019) had not really started before everyone involved was horrified by an accident during the shakedown. One of the first cars left the road on a straight and plunged down to the right and injured six spectators all of whom were in a designated spectator area. At the scene were two doctors and several paramedics, so that immediate help could be provided. The emergency services of the organizer and other help requested were at the scene of the accident in a few minutes.

Update about the accident at Eifel Rallye Festival

Dear friends of the Eifel Rallye Festival,
the event will continue as planned. An update about the accident at Shakedown yesterday: The two seriously injured persons have been operated in the hospitals, their condition is stable. The four slightly injured persons were able to leave the hospital immediately after outpatient treatment.

 

Accident at Eifel Rallye Festival

Around 3.15 p.m. for so far unknown reasons, one participant left the track to the right during the shakedown and drove into the spectators, who were behind the barriers. According to the current state of knowledge, six people were injured. Among the spectators were two doctors and several paramedics who were able to help immediately. The rescue forces of the organizer present on site and the forces summoned were also at the scene of the accident within a few minutes. Four people who were lightly injured were taken to surrounding hospitals, one of the two seriously injured was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.

 

The shakedown was stopped immediately. The event will be continued in a manner appropriate to the occasion with the Welcome Evening at 8.30 pm.
