ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival – 3, 2, 1 - Festival

The final spurt is on for the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 27th/29th, 2023) and the preparations for the biggest rolling rally museum are in full swing. The first participants and guests have already taken up their quarters in the Volcanic Eifel. The organisation team is growing steadily as more and more helpers are joining the core team to assist with the tasks that now lie ahead. Over the Festival weekend, more than seven hundred people will be active on a voluntary basis to provide the participants and the tens of thousands of fans with the best possible conditions for this worldwide meeting of the rally scene.

What the fans have been waiting for is finally here since the entry list for the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 27th to 29th, 2023) has just been published. More than one hundred and sixty crews and their historic rally cars will shortly transform the Volcanic Eifel into the largest mobile rally car museum. "We can once again offer the friends of historic rallying a very diverse starting field. Among them are vehicles that are rarely seen, but also real exotics like the Ford Mustang that the French singer and actor Johnny Hallyday drove in the 1967 Rally Monte Carlo," explains Reinhard Klein.

For Demuth, a reunion also meant driving the ultimate ’winged monster‘, that Audi Sport Quattro E2 Pikes Peak in which Walter Röhrl won the 1987 Race to the Clouds. ”I was involved in the development of this car from the very beginning and was allowed to drive during the testing. ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival – The historic rally world meets in the Volcanic Eifel

In the region around Daun, anticipation is mounting for the return of the biggest rolling rally museum. The ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 27th to 29th, 2023) will once again bring over one hundred and fifty historic rally cars to Daun. They will not just be on display at the service areas along the Rally Mile in the middle of Daun, as fans can also watch these cars from rally history in action on the demonstration stages in the Volcanic Eifel.

Co-organiser Christian Geistdörfer had set an ambitious goal for the 2015 Festival which was to have five World Rally Champions present. A close look at the history books reveals that in the long history of the World Rally Championship, there had been only one event in which Walter Röhrl, Sandro Munari, Hannu Mikkola, Stig Blomqvist and Timo Salonen all took part. The RAC Rally of November 1977 was the only time that these five World stars had driven on the same event – that is until July 2015.

The preparations for this year's ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 27th to 29th, 2023) are in full swing. The entry list is bulging and offers a diverse selection of cars from the history of rallying. "Our motto 'The Great Classics' means that there are cars on the entry list that have not been seen before at our event," explains Reinhard Klein, who as the brains behind Slowly Sideways is responsible for putting together the entry. "With the development of what we understand to be rallying today, there were events in the past that we had a hard time classifying. Imagine one where two people sit in a rally car and one drives while the other navigates.
