ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival 2025: The maxim has been established
- ‘The Cars of the Stars’ - from Aaltonen to Zasada.
- A unique entry from the history of rallying.
- The Eifel Rallye Festival has planted 200 trees.
Every year, fans eagerly await the maxim that guides the basis of selection for the line-up at the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival. On the weekend of July 24th to 26th, 2025 the focus will be on the selection of historic rally cars driven by famous drivers. ‘We will try to get the cars of as many great rally drivers as possible to the start. From Aaltonen to Zasada, the number of different cars of these former drivers in the entry should be as extensive as possible,’ explains Reinhard Klein (Cologne) who, of the organising team, is the one responsible for putting together the entry list. ’To ensure the great variety that is desired, we will not be able to allow absolutely identical cars. But we also look forward to entries of rare automotive witnesses of rally history that may not have been driven by the front row of WRC stars.’ If you own one of these original or faithfully reproduced vehicles and would like to present it to the fans at the Eifel Rallye Festival next year, you can contact us at entry@eifel-rallye-festival.de. If the car meets the necessary requirements, the data to access the entry portal will be provided. This way, the ‘Rolling Rally Museum’ will once again be able to present a globally unique and extremely diverse collection of cars from the history of rallying.
Eifel Rallye Festival plants 200 trees
On November 30th, 2024, the tree-planting campaign took place that had been announced in the summer. A tree was planted for each of the two hundred participating cars at the Eifel Rallye Festival 2024, thus making a positive contribution to environmental protection. The aim of this initiative is to offset the Festival's carbon footprint as well as contributing to reforestation. ‘With this planting campaign, we are also showing that motorsport and environmental protection do not have to be contradictions. Each tree is a step towards a more sustainable future,’ explained Otmar Anschütz, who is also chairman of MSC Daun e.V. im ADAC and head of the organisation of the Eifel Rallye Festival. Talks had been held in advance with the Mayor of Daun, Friedhelm Marder, and with the forester, Jan Reinert, who is responsible for the municipal forest. The town of Daun decided to support this measure and thus provided a suitable area for the planting. Since this is in the immediate vicinity of the MSC club office, the distances travelled to the planting area were minimal.
Under the expert guidance of forester Reinert, the trees, that were species chosen for their resistance to the effects of climate change, were planted by around thirty helpers. ‘We only chose native and, above all, certified trees,’ explains Anschütz. ‘The area provided by the city is sufficiently large that our plans are to create an “MSC-Daun Forest” here over the next few years’.
This labour-intensive task was completed quickly, in line with the old saying: ‘Many Hands Make Light Work’. Afterwards, everyone warmed up with punch provided by the forestry office and enjoyed delicious wild-boar sausages. The Mayor, Friedhelm Mader, visited the site and thus got an overview of the situation. He praised this exemplary campaign and thanked the MSC Daun e.V. for their commitment to the city.
